Below is a a copy of the new Indonesian Law on visa free countries signed by President Jokowi on 2 March 2016.
Other countries
Visitors from Pakistan and some other countries are not included in this list. Other countries need to apply for a visa in advance of travelling to Indonesia. To apply for a visa please visit the nearest Indonesian Embassy.
This is a link to Indonesian Embassy in Islamabad for Pakistan visitors.
You can also get the help from a visa agent to apply for a visa. Please contact our friends at Visa For Bali.
This free visa is for 30 days only and cannot be extended. You can enter and exit Indonesia on a free visa through 29 airports and 88 harbours and 7 land crossings.
Find out which airports and harbours can process free visa arrivals and departures.
The purpose of increasing the lost of free visa countries was to boost the number of foreign visitors to Indonesia. This increase will then create new job opportunities.
According to Rizal the original extra 45 countries (added on 10 June 2015) had at that time already created a 15% growth in tourist arrivals.
These Indonesia free visa countries are chosen on a set of strict government criteria.
“Countries that are known to have issues with drugs, economic stability, and radicalism are not eligible” said Rizal.
Director General of Immigration Ronny Sompie said that they will add immigration counters at the airports specifically for visa-free visitors.

The above was released in a meeting on Tuesday, 1 September 2015. This meeting was attended by the Director General of Immigration Ronny Sompie, the Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya, Major General Erfi Triassunu, Representatives of the Police and Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dear president almost maximum countries are enjoying your visa free or visa on arrival that’s a good sign to develop the country
But it’s really very shocking when I didn’t see the name of your brother country Pakistan. Could you please review the visa policy and include the name of my dear country so that the citizens of our country could visit and enjoy the beauty of Indonesia please? ??

Could me know when the name of Pakistan shall be included in your VOA list please? Thanks
Dear Ketut,
As Venezuelan citizens, according to the list published (Indonesia Visa Free Entry for 169 countries) that we are entitled for the Indonesia Free 30-day non extendable visa providing we follow Step 1.
If the above is confirmed, can you please tell us as to how many times can we travel to Indonesia under this arrangement within a specific period of time, let’s say within reasonable limits of visiting as tourists twice or three times a year ?
Thank you for your kind attention.
Hello Iswanto, there are no legal limits on how often you can enter the country on a 30 day free visa. In theory you could visit Indonesia 12 times on a 30 day visa.

Hello,
I would like to check weather its mandatory to have one blank page on passport if travelling to Bali, the problem my passport running out of blank pages , many Immigration officers they stamped not organized , like one stamp in one page. That’s why there is still many places to chop for stamp on the pages
Nationality Uzbekistan
You are required to have one totally empty page. It may be that you are lucky and the immigration officer doesn’t mind a half empty page but in my opinion it is better to get a new passport with plenty of space for the visa stamps as it would be very inconvenient if you were to be denied entry.
Hi sir/madam it’s me kishan Dhenga magar from nepal is it true free visa for Nepal visit Indonesia?? If I’m arrival Indonesian airport need any important documents?? Thanks

Dear Ketut,
Selamat Pagi.
I am Indian national travelling to Indonesia this month.
Question 1: On Free Visa On Arrival, Can I enter from one airport (eg: Jakarta) and exit from another airport (eg: Yogja) ?
Question 2: In the list “AIRPORTS you can arrive AND depart from” some airports are marked in bold letters.
(in BOLD) Java, Jakarta, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK)
(plain text) Java, Semarang, Ahmad Yani International Airport (SRG
What it means?
Thank you very much.
You can find the details on this page; http://topbali.com/indonesia-visa/
There is no difference in meaning between bold and not bold. I just marked the more common airports in bold so they are easier to spot.
Hi I am a Pakistani citizen working in Hong Kong and planning to go to Indonesia with my family for vocations . Do I need visa before hand if yes can I apply in Indonesia consulate in Hong Kong or have to apply in Indonesian embassy in Pakistan ? or possible to apply online ?

I dont why pakistan name still not in arival visa list i see in news now no need visa for indonsia but still there no pakistani name i dont no why…
I am a guinean, i applied for an indonesian visa but was denied for some reasons which were not clear enough. My friend at indonesia was at the immigration in jakarta, infront of this person, the officers insisted there was no good relationship between us as friends. I was actually confused what friendship means to these officers.
What are the actual criteria for granting a visitor’s visa?
If you are from Papua New Guinea then normally you can just enter Indonesia on a free 30 day visa. You can find more details on this 30 day visa over here; Indonesia visa
I am not from Papua New Guinea. I am from Conakry, Guinea. Please help me check details regarding this and why the immigration officers in Jakarta might have had such an unfavourable response towards the application. All documents submitted were accurate and genuine including the Bank statement from Maybank, Malaysia and a good travel record with no single background issue. Then, an officer advised to use an agency and i was wondering what difference would that make. Sounds more like a ‘business’ thing rather than fairness.
I am not from Papua New Guinea. I am from Conakry Guinea. What are the requirement needed by the Jakarta office? I provided all necessary documents including a bank statement with huge balance to show that I can support myself throughout my temporary stay. My Sponsor was also a well to do person and the officers insisted there was no close relationship between us even in front of my friend. Must one be a family member to be eligible for Visas or I do not understand what it means by close relationship the officers were referring to. Right in front of my sponsor, they suggested an application through agency. That does sound more like an internal business rather than government policy.
Please respond if you have any information as regards visa process for Guineans.
I am from Conakry Guinea.
I am a Bangladeshi Citizen want to visit Indonesia will I get visa on arrival? what document do I need ?

How is that possible that this kind of official information is still not available in local Indonesian embassies?
For instance Indonesian Embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark, states that Ukranian citizens still need to apply for a visa at the embassy ( even if the stay is shorter than 30 days)
we are so sorry, that our embassy still not up to date. but if you’re ukrainian you can freely enter indonesia for 30 days
In this article you say “You can enter Indonesia through 5 airports and 9 harbours”
and “Visitors from these 169 countries can both enter AND exit through 29 airports, 88 harbours and 7 land borders” in here http://topbali.com/indonesia-visa
Thank you for spotting this. I have adjusted this article so it is correct.

Thanks for the updates and patience in answering all the questions even those that you shouldn’t.
Hi there – thanks for this list! My partner is a Kenyan national who is trying to come to Indonesia for a holiday for several weeks as I’m working here at the moment. It looks like Kenya is on the updated list of visa free countries but the Indonesian embassy in Nairobi is telling him he still needs a visa before departure. As well as taking his money, they’re now also asking for loads of documents, so it’s very frustrating! Maybe he should just demand his passport back & travel? Jo
Hello Jo, as of 21 March 2016 Kenyans can get a free 30 day visa upon arrival. You may ask the Nairobi Indonesian Embassy to visit this Indonesian Government website with the official announcement; http://setkab.go.id/tidak-untuk-jurnalistik-wisatawan-dari-169-negara-ini-bebas-visa-kunjungan-ke-indonesia/
Ok thanks. We’ll give that a try. But unfortunately I suspect there may be quite a lag time between the legislation the national government has passed legislation in Jakarta on & what officers are doing in Indonesian embassies around the world!
Jo
Hi there – me again. I just wanted to update you on the incredibly frustrating experience my partner has had with the Indonesian embassy in Kenya. Indonesian embassies in western countries may be up to speed re the new visa free rules but not in other less ‘white’ places! My partner’s visa was submitted just before the rules changed & after the new visa free rule came in he asked for his passport back…2 weeks ago but still no sign of it. Why? Well first the embassy claimed they knew nothing about the new rules so he took in the Bahasa version of the ruling; then they agreed that Kenyans didn’t need a visa any longer but because they’d started processing his under the old rules they now needed to wait for Jakarta to instruct them as to what to do. The whole thing is a farce & has ruined our holiday plans. Even the airlines flying out of Kenya to Indonesia know nothing about these new rules so could potentially stop Kenyan citizens from boarding the plane with no visa. So, once again, if you’re living in a western country & travelling to Indonesia then you’ll be fine – if not, be prepared for major hassles.
i’m so sorry to hear that, i think that our embassy in kenya still didn’t get a legally instruction from our ministery. so they can’t do anything about that. i hope your vacation will be nice
Wondering if travelling on Australian Passport after 21/03/2016 is there a visa fees on arrival. Spoke to Indonesian Embassy in Canberra on 21/03/2016 and was informed that even the signature for free visa for Austyralian Citizens completed on 02/03/2016, the implementation hasn’t happen and till that happens we Australian passport holders need to pay USD 35 for visa on arrival. Tried to be in touch with Sydney office this afternoon (21/03/16) no one anwered the phone. Can anyone please provide some more information on Australian passport holders.
Hello Shamik, as of 21 March 2016 there are 169 countries that get the 30 day free visa entry. This includes Australian passport holders.
I am planning to go to the Bahamas within next month. My question is that true that for Indonesian passport holder no need visa entry to visit the Bahamas? Thanks.
On reading your post re VOA free for Australians.
I have contacted different persons here in Australia and they cannot confirm your post. As myself and friends travel to Bali twice per year this would be great if true. None of the Travel Agents here seem to know anything about the free VOA.
Hello Hilma, the Bali airport immigration department has started offering 30 day free visas to Australians as of 21 March 2016.
Hi Ketut
I am residence in Thailand since 9 years even i am holding USA visa since 2019, should i need invitation form Indonesia for visa or just i can apply visa in Embassy of Bangkok?
Because few years ago they asked me immigration clearance letter form Jakarta, so its remain same policy for Pakistan Passport holder,
Also explain what means of Free- entry policy which announced last year 21st Dec/2015 and there is Pakistan name also,
Hello Yousef, in December 2015 the Indonesian Government was considering to add 85 countries to the visa free list. From the 85 countries 79 were approved and 6 were not approved. The five countries that were not approved are Pakistan, Cameroon, Guinea, Montenegro, North Korea, and Somalia. If you are from Pakistan then you need to visit the Indonesian Embassy to get a visa before travelling.
Hello,
I am Pakistani citizen and i live and work in Dubai and its been 3 years now. I bought holiday package for Bali but when i heard about Approval letter from immigration and how much it cost and time consuming, i cancelled my holiday voucher.
I would like to ask you that if i can directly go to embassy and submit my documents without any hassel and get visa? OR Pakistani citizen still go through this long process of getting approval from immigration office in jakarta and get it posted and then apply to embassy with all further long list of documents?
will appreciate your response.
Thanks
Shoaib
Hello Shoaib, nothing has chanced for Pakistani citizens so unfortunately I believe you still have to do the same lengthy visa application process as before.
Dear Sir,
Can you tell us all the information regarding this.
1. Is it on arrival?
2. Is it needed to get free VISA before coming?
3. What are the airports and ports etc?
4. What is needed? money, guarantees etc.
Leslie
Dear Leslie,
The free visa is upon arrival. You need a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the day of your arrival. You need proof or a departure flight out of Bali within the period of your intended visa. You may also be asked to proof you have sufficient funds although this happens very rarely unless the immigration officer suspects you will violate your visa and work illegally for example. Continue HERE to find the list of the airports and ports.
thanks very much.
So we not needed to go to Indonisian Embassy in Sri Lanka.
leslie
Thanks for the Government of Indunisia for granting Sri Lankan visa free. I have been there but i stoped going there as visa dificulties.
now i start going there soon.
I Went Through The List And Didnt See Nigeria There. Why?
Nigerians need to apply for an Indonesian Visa before travelling.
hi,
what about Guinea conakry? Not in the list yet?
Has Australia been granted visa free entry as yet?
Is Ghana to Indonesia really a visa free
Is there any travel requirements for Ghanaian traveller
Hello Emmanuel, visitors with a passport from Ghana can get a free 30 day visa upon arrival in Indonesia. The travel requirements are to have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity left in your passport from the day you arrive in Bali. You will also need at least one totally empty page in your passport and proof that you have a flight ticket to leave Indonesia within the 30 days of your free visa. Click here to read the current Indonesian visa regulations.
Dear Ketut Bali,
Is PAKISTAN also in the list of “”Visa on arrival”” countries…
Or Pakistani has to get visa through Indonesian Embassy prior to travel.
Dear Khan, currently Pakistan citizens need to apply for a visa before travelling to Indonesia. You will need to visit the nearest Indonesian Embassy to get a 60 day tourist visa. However, Pakistan is also on the list of countries under consideration for the free 30 day visa although at this moment it is not clear if and when the extra visa free countries will be added.
Hi Ketut,
Do you have any estimation as to when the visa on arrival will be available for pakistani passport as i am planning for a trip and hate to go through the lengthy procedure of visa application. Is there any notice that pakistan under consideration?
Hello Sara, I would not put to much hope into this. If Pakistan is added that will require an amendment of the law. As far as I know Pakistan is not under consideration. Sorry.
